Should you let someone become more than your best friend, a bigger part in your life and see whether you end up miraculously happy or disastrously unhappy, then end it, knowing that at least you had a shot? Then you never speak or see that person in the same way again, despite what they might initially say.
Or do you keep things as they are, nice and simple, really good friends, knowing that they’ll stay your friend forever?
What if you are like a boyfriend and girlfriend, only without the physical aspect? Would you always be wondering “what if?”?
I’ve recently made some new friends, a little older than myself, and mostly boys. I vowed that I would never get involved with one of them because it would make things far too messy and political just like what happened in school.
Why is it that I never learn?
